Spec Stage I vs. FRP King Cobra

First off, I would advise against getting the Steeda adjustable clutch cable. I would just re-use your stock non-adjustable cable or get a new one from Jegs. The OEM cable is far better than any adjustable cable.

I have also used a King Cobra, a Spec stage 1, and now a Spec stage 2. The King Cobra had the lightest pedal, and absolutely no chatter. It felt great, but didn't grab as hard as the Specs. The Spec Stage 1 grabbed hard, but it chattered like a muther f'er. I now run the Stage 2 and it is an awesome clutch. No chatter, grabs real hard. I'm just hoping not to tear up my T5.

I know I don't need such a tough clutch right now, but I'm hoping to put a lot more power through it someday.

I have the FMS HD clutch...

2 years of abuse... 3660 LB raceweight, COUNTLESS 5500+ RPM launches on slicks..... Never slipped once... daily driven too...

I don't know what's up with all you guys having chatter issues with the Spec Stage 1..........mine chattered for the first 5 minutes or so.........other than that, it's been great for over 20,000 miles.........

Spec called me a smart ass and still have my input retainer. My car has been on jackstands since October thanks to them.

What do you mean? You called tech support and they called you a smart ass? I'm sorry but I had to LOL. What happened? Don't feel bad though, my car is on jack stands too.

Ya know, I couldn't tell ya either. When I say that clutch chattered, i'm not talking just a little chatter. I'm talking it sounded like my whole car was about to fall apart every time I backed out of my driveway, started off in first gear, and it even chattered when I would downshift into third and second gear. Right after I got that clutch installed, I took my car to a mustang performance shop to have them check the installation, and they said everything was fine, and the Stage 1 is supposed to chatter like that because of the organic disk.

All I know is I'm sure glad I have a Stage 2 now. Far better clutch.
