Special tool needed to disconnect fuel lines?

Yep you need fuel line disconnects, get them from local parts store mine came in 4 differnt sizes and diff colours. Find the right size slide it in and pull apart. Fairly easy with the right tools, impossible without them.

The ones I got were made from metal. With those I was able to put it on, hold the other part of the fuel line as gently as possible with a pair of channel locks and put a pry bar (large screwdriver) between the two to pry them apart. Requires an extra set of hands.

There is no real need to take them apart unless you are replacing them. They are attached to flexible hoses and can be moved out of the way once you remove the 4 bolts holding the rails down to the lower intake. I changed my lower intake without disconnecting them. I tried to take them apart and they are really stuck on my car also. I have taken these fittings apart before on other cars, and I have the right tools also.
