Speed Hut Gauges in 67 Gauge Cluster

Stangnet, I am in the planning stages of deciding what gauges to get. I have seen some members here use Speed Hut in their 65 Mustangs.

Has anyone installed them in a 67 Mustang? Pictures would be awesome if they are available. Thanks Everyone.

They don't appear to make 5" gauges that fit nicely in the speedo and tach openings on the 67's. The largest they make is 4". But man, they do make some great looking gauges.

Mustangmutt, I agree the gauges are awesome and you get to pretty much design what you want.

I put a 2 1/16" tach in my clock hole and it slipped right through from the front of the bezel, after the old lens was removed. It didn't have a lot of extra diameter but just enough. I have a 68 and I believe the bezel is the same as 67, except for a couple of the indicator lights. From the measurements I've gotten from my junk bezel and comparing it to the specs at Speedhut's website, it appears that their 4" tachs, speedos and quad gauge sets should be a perfect fit as well as all of the small ones in 2 1/16" (they call it 2"). If you do your whole cluster with their stuff, you won't need very much of the rear pan of your cluster and all illumination is in the gauges. The Revolution Series has the widest range of different gauges. They were excellent to deal with and the more you spend the higher percentage discount you get, not to mention they regularly run holiday 10% off sales. You can save a few bucks over most other brands AND you get to make your own choices for font, colors, illumination colors, logos, graphics, etc. and the quality is quite good. Way cool stuff.

Gene, it makes sense. I noticed that when people use the 5 inch Autometer gauges they cut out the trim around them to make them work in the 67 gauge cluster.

In our older cars, is it better to just go mechanical instead of electronic for the speedometer?

I am sure the tach gets it's signal from the distributor or and MSD? All questions I will need to research.

I prefer to go with an electronic speedometer when installing aftermarket gauges. It is easy to calibrate them accurately and if you change rear gears at some time all you have to do is re calibrate it. No messing around with different tooth count speedo drive gears.
