Today i installed my FRPP double hook alum quadrant. my speedo cable was in the way, so i used a zip tie and tightened it around the cable, it moved it a bit, not much at all.

Now my speedo will work fine until 55-60, then it will start going haywire and bounce around like 120 and i can hear a clicking behind the guages.

It will act crazy and click until i slow down to about 40 which is where it acts fine again.

Think too many bends or something made it do this? it doesnt look bent around or anything.... its not moved very far at all from where it was.

Take the zip ties off the speedo cable. Once everything is installed the clutch cable is no where near the speedo cable so there is no need to tie it out of the way. If it keeps bouncing lube the cable. You'll have to remove the entire cable off the car to do this. If it is the original cable I suggest just buying a new one. They are like $20 at 50resto or the parts store.

Also could be worn out speedo gear on the end of the cable or worn out gear INSIDE the tranny you swapped in.
