The funny looking union thingy could be because you have a two piece VASCAR cable. I understand these are hard if not impossible to find. My SSP was a former Nebraska car and they were equipped with VASCAR, which required this specific speedo cable. Mine is broken as it’s routed near the header on the drivers side, but due to its rarity, I’m going to take it to a speedo shop where I live to see if it can be repaired. It’s doubtful, but worth a try. Not all cables are the same, especially when dealing with a SSP. VASCAR is checking speed over a known distance, think the white lines you see on the highway, for checking your speed from an aircraft, well, some states did it in a car following you.....especially when radar wasn’t like it is today.I the speedo cables are slightly different for SSP foxbodies because of calibration requirements. Mine has a funny looking union thingy after it comes out the firewall. If mine makes noise while driving, is there a fix or is it just worn out? If worn out, is there a good resource for SSP specific parts, would like to keep the vehicle as original as possible.
@Exrace89GT , sorry if I'm jacking your thread.
