my brothers 91 lx has the crazy speedo problem going on, we replaced the cable and gear and it still acts crazy. it SORT OF reads accurate at very low speeds maybe 5-10 mph, after that it bounces all over the place.

i have heard of getting the whole cluster rebuilt. or perhaps we could do it ourselves. just gettin an idea of what i can do from this point, the cable and gear did nothing really to help.

i'd hate to put another cluster from another car in, i would like to keep the stock one in to keep the milage showing correctly.

Try that sensor that pugs in with the speedometer cable.

how would the speed sensor affect the speedo needle in the cluster? all the sensor does is relay back to the EEC how fast the cable is turning to determine MPH for the EEC. the cable itself actually turns the speedo in the cluster.

unless i am missing something?? i dont know for sure so let me know.
