speedo drive gear Yellow= 7 tooth?

[Bolt on 5.0]

Hey I found an old post stating that the speedo drive gear, not driven gear is as follows. Black= 6 tooth/ Yellow= 7 tooth/ Green= 8 tooth. Can anyone confirm this?

I am trying to match my driven gear to the drive gear and I have yellow drive gear and 4.10 gears. So I am going to get the 23 toothe gear as long as the yellow is 7 tooth

Now if you really want to change the internal drive gear of your manual tranny you can match it according to the table below. Be aware that the 6 tooth will offer the most combos for numerically higher gear ratios and offer the greatest degree of accuracy. I think you need the 23 tooth gear aslong as you have the 7 tooth drive

Cool roland thanks for that info. Yeh I also used the gear calculator and came up withthe same thing,23 tooth, so I just ordered the gear from mustangs unlimited.
