Speedo gear questions?

I have looked at a couple of websites, and the ones i haved looked at have showed different combinations, I have 4.10 gears and a seven tooth drive gear on my tranny, i want to get a six tooth drive gear, and i have looked at the websites and they either say a 19 tooth driven gear, or a 20 tooth driven with the 6 tooth drive gear. Does anyone know exactly which one will come out right, Everyone tell me which one you think

Unless the gear in your trans has been changed, or you have a pre-1990 T-5, you have an 8 tooth drive gear. I would change the drive gear to a 6 instead of a 7. With the 7 tooth gear, you would have to use a 23 tooth driven gear, and that is not a Ford part and would probably get eaten, as it is a very common problem. With the 6 tooth drive gear, you would use a 20 tooth driven gear, which is a Ford part and you should not have any problems with it being chewed up.
