speedo not workin

my speedo doesnt work and i have a new speedo gear so what would i have to replace to fix it.

check the wiring to the vss,make sure they are not melted togeather.if they are,seperate them.you may need to replace the speed/rpm gauge in the cluster.i dont know where to get them new.you mabye able to find one at your local junkyard.i think any 94/95 will work,96/98 will also work,but the coolant,abs,ect...icons are in different locations.

your goal is to find a 94-95 150 mph speedo,but if you cant the others i mentioned will work.i had same problem.ran a 95 v6 120 mph for awhile,then a 96 gt 150 mph til i found the proper speedo.there was a 3-4 mph differance between those two and the original.will give you a good ballpark speed til you find 94-95 150 mph speedo

See i need a cobra one. What happened was the speedo gear was stripped and sometimes it would work and somehow it popped underneath the little black pointer and the bottom and probly burnt out something.

try mpsautosalvage.com for a used cobra cluster,then you can swap out your odometer to that one.just to be safe, make sure the vss wires are ok,otherwise the "new" cluster may be messed up.
