Speedo swap?

today i was lookin thru my 5.0resto and i got to thinking, can i swap my speedo to 140mph rather than 85mph limit? i was wondering if a 92 n/a 2.3l is capablae of achieving a speed of over 85? Also, i will be swapping the N/A for a 2.3T in the comming weeks!!! this is why i was wondering about the 140mph thing. so same question for the 2.3T, Anybody know the top speed it can pull to? if its greater than 85, then i think i'd like to know that, especially on the highway. just a silly question but ,maybe you could help me out.

Yes you can swap a 140 speedo in...for your car anything from 90-93 will work, but not the 87-89.
Yes a 2.3na can go faster than 85...about 110 if you really push it. But i dont suggest you go that fast in a stock suspension 2.3.

There was a thread about this a while back. Is it basically plug and play or what because I forget?

If the gauge is from the right year ('87-'89, '90-'93), then yes, it's pretty much plug and play.

So, mine is a 93 and if I get a 91-93 V8 140 MPH speedo, it's pretty much plug and play.
