History,
Put the white face/indiglo kit on my gauge cluster, and on first drive noticed the speedo did not work. Pulled the face kit off, still no good. Replaced the speedo VSS, no help. Then I tried Cruise Control, that works. Sent the cluster for testing, works fine.

One time last winter the speedo worked from a cold start for about 5 miles then stopped working. Guessing a connection is loose or whatnot. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Stan

make sure the contacts that plug into the cluster look ok and also look at the eletrical tabs on the cluster, and fuses, maybe one of the plastic gears in the cluster broke.

Thanks for the help, after double checking the fuses and tracing some wires, etc, I determined the on the white plug the last wire (ground for Speedo) was bent in ever so lightly. After prying that out a little, all is well.
Thanks,
Stan

If both your speedo and odo don't work, good chance it is the little black plastic gear that is in your cluster. There is a good set of instructions here http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=605742 that illustrate how to remove the cluster, check your gear and how to replace it. He also includes a vendor in Virginia who can supply you with that part for $29 (which includes shipping). I am in the process of fixing mine!! I had 130k before mine quit. The gear was all chewed up when I removed it!!
