Driving home from getting my alignment, I looked at the speed-0, and it was "stuck" on 30mph. Im 99% sure it's the White face gauge overlays, even though I dont understand how it could "clear" for the last 3 months and then suddently stick..

Just wanted to post this now before I open the bezel again this week to see if there are any other possible causes of this? Everything else on the dash is working.

sounds like tis just the white face gauges, my friend had the same problem because he used some double sided tape that was too thick and caused the needle to stick

RC, i have the same gauges you have and had this problem on initial install, turns out when i slipped them over the needles, i pushed the needle slightly farther down than it was originally, I took a fork (i know) and use it to pull the needle out ever so slightly at a time, until i got it at the desired spacing between the gauges and the needle......

prolly just heat....that has cause it to move or something

That happened to my Fuel and WT gauge at first...

ONe other thing about the gauges...is it true that if you just move the gauges with your hands, you wont mess up the original position as long as you have not lifted the needles off? My WT gauge seems to be a mm or 2 more to the "hot" side than it was before, compared to Autometer gauge.

i would assume so RC, they have a little play in them where the holes are, so they can easily be moved.... very slightly anyhow....

i will mention that i used High tack Spray adhesive on the corners once i had them right where i wanted them so i wouldn't have to ever pull that assembly back apart again....

yeah i know isn't that crap a pain in the but.......especially that headlight switch..... I cheated last time though iheld a nail with some needle noses got good leverage, and pryed, on the clip and the switch itself at the same time.....a lot easier...

LOL...I have the little chrome knob, and it's held on by an allen screw, so mine is a lot easier.

i have the same prob. the white face APC gauges "bubble" up as the sticky part wore out i guess n the plastic gauge ended up pressing up on the needle from the inside.... i took it off put some glue in so its not visible n the gauges move again =)

Sometimes I wonder if those gauges are worth it, then I look at how nice they look and say "OH YEAH!!"

You know I have the same problem, but I dont have white face gauges. It tends to get stuck sometimes. So i tap the cluster and it gets in its place. But sometimes It gets jumpy, you think I should pull the cluster out and pry up a bit on the needle? The cluster might have been messed with before so what do you guys think?

There is a Speed o shop on 441 and Miramar right behind the Home Depot if you have problems that cant be fixed...He is not cheap, but he knows his schtuff.

We gotta hook up some time.
