Spindels??

I was at the Historic Races this weekend at California Speedway and talked to a crew member on a Shelby GT350 about the front spindels on the car. He said I could use the brum brake spindels that were on the car with disk roters if I wanted to. Its this correct? All I need to do is get it rolling again and could use the money for new spindels elsewhere.

Yes, the 65-66 cars used the same spindles for disk and drum. Since your looking for spindles, try and find some drum spindles from a 70-73 Mustang. Alot stronger and everything bolts up fine. You'll need the outer tie rod from the later car and wheel bearings A12 and A13 to make the early rotor work, or just run 70 rotors.

if $$ is an issue, the granada swap is also a very popular method to consider, however they are single piston floating calipers... still beats the heck out of front drums but not up to par w/ the fixed 4 or more cylinder calipers that i've seen for the non-granada setups

granada swap does require spindle swap, but overall will cost less than going with aftermarket parts

Thanks Guys... Its just so I can put it on the ground at start driving it onto the trailor or the bodyshop. I plan on a Willwood conversion once I start driving it harder.

Only huge jump in prices ive seen between the two is the rotors are 119 compared to 79 for granadas and the calipers are 124 compared to 15 bucks for granadas

guess it really comes down to if you can find Spindles from a Granada if its affordable
