Spindle removal from ball joint

Ok, i've been searching, found nothing, what is the best way to remove the spindle from the ball joint on my 95. I've actually got the control arm and spindle/hub off of the car, i'm just trying to figure this out, as one of my control arms needs a new ball joint.

You don't ever want to beat on the bolt portion with a hammer. The best way to get suspension parts such as these apart on mustangs is to take a hammer and beat on the part that the bolt goes into. If that doesn't seem to be doing it, get a bigger hammer.

This is my method but only works if you're replacing the balljoints as they get destroyed in the process.

Since you've already pulled everything apart, you'll need to reassemble a bunch of stuff to do it my way. Everything should still be installed including struts, springs, spindles, and control arm. Remove the wheel and loosen the balljoint to spindle nut so that the top of the nut is flush with the top of the stud. Place a floor jack under the control arm and leave 1/4" -1/2" of space in between the two. Now smack the top of the balljoint with a hammer a few times. The force of the spring should easily push the balljoint out of the spindle. Now remove everything and replace.

Method #2:
Get a pickle fork and hammer it in between the spindle and balljoint.

Method #3:
Start smacking with a hammer but don't bash up the spindle.

Good luck.
