spining the vortech faster with alum.

I have always said it didnt matter what your doing below 4000 rpm, but I am just refuting what rickey bobby said about 4 psi on a vortech at 2800.

I never get below 4500 when racing, so it is irrelevant honestly.

but I will say a KB is hard to beat, if you are outrunning them on the same boost, then you have a better all together combo. A KB alone isnt gonna beat a V2 car built for that purpose. it has alot more to it than just the blower.

My car has a big hairdryer under the hood, I think its metal, I'm not sure...but since its been there the car is fast!!! :p

01steeda surely made that power with the Vortech...he was running a high compression setup and meth injection.

I have no idea about boost levels at what RPM, I'm too lazy to datalog it honestly :nice: I do know that after my FMIC I only lost 1.0psi, which I'm plenty happy with...and the car pulls like a mofo up top (so much so that I don't realize I need to shift till my Raptor tells me to HAH).

I'm not here to bash on the KB. They are great blowers. I owned one. Until I got tired of getting spanked by centuri's. And now I ditched the centuri for a turbo. All are great. I'm just pointing out that the "massive low end power" of the KB isn't as massive as it sounds compared to the centuri.

..I can't believe how off topic this thread is getting.

stanggt00, Let us know how that pulley works for you. I found my old pulley I was talking about with the holes... I'll get some better pix up soon.

SaleenGT2001, dont get down on your Novi, it simply has a boost curve skewed toward a higher RPM than the vortech. This is due to the impeller design. Vortech hogged up a buttload of patents on their impellers, so theres not much room for other guys to innovate. However, spin that puppy up and she will pound some ground. I have done some work on some kickass Novi cars...
Also, My car had 3.25" charge piping w/ the vortech, the stock power pipe is VERY constrictive and will kill flow at all RPM's, I was running just a few #'s at 3K rpm with the stock vortech pipe.
