Hey whats up guys, haven't posted in a while glad to be back here. Well today me and my 95 4.6 thunderbird almost got t-boned...it would have been BAAAAAD. I was at a red light, waiting to turn right with the signal, so my signal comes on and i go to take it (thinking the guy coming from my left is going to slow down cause his light is CLEARLY RED) and had to slam on my brakes cause this SOB in his ford econoline van screeched his tires to stop....i was like "you sob ****sucker"..lol.

Anyway i took my turn and smoked my tires for a good 3 car legnths which mean the A/T burned through 1st and into 2nd. How bad is that for the forward clutch plates, or the tranny in general. I was cracking up watching this dude keep his distance behind me after my "antics" lol.

Sorry for the somewhat "16 year old" post....haha. BTW my traction control was off, i hate having traction...

Worse on your tires than tranny.:nice: I wouldnt worry about the tranny. I spin all the tires constantly in my truck while 4wheeling. I run a tranny cooler, but this is cuz it has to live behind 450HP. I doubt you did enough to heat it up a couple extra degrees.

Thanks bud, yeah honestly it's not like i drive around all day burnin up tires. I was just so pissed off, i mean i would have been HURT if this guy braked and extra 5 feet or so. I was just curious cause i read somewhere that if you do burnouts, you should leave an AT in 1st, or 2nd...just watch the rpms.

Who do you think you're kidding.....T-Birds/Cougars can't spin the tires! :nonono:

Well from a stop no spinning, but as soon as you take a mild turn, and gun it....smoke...

BTW that's the only time i can get BOTH wheels to lay rubber, if i do a brake stand burnout....one wheel wonder lol. Forgot to mention my bird is a tad lighter than the average bird...!!! No sound deadener or carpet from the dash to the trunk, completely stripped trunk just fix a flat and a quart of oil...no back seats just the V brace to maintain some body rigidity. Next i'm gonna get lightweight seats to save an extra 30lbs on the drivers seat and about 20 on the passenger.

Overall so far she's about 180lbs lighter then stock. PS if your thinking about removing the sound deadener.....DONT. My back is still fhugged up from using a heating gun and scraper sitting in odd positions..omg what a pita..

Naaa, I'm content with my Cat being a fat-ass. I'll just add more power to offset the effects of the weight. :D
