Spinning tires?

I bought a 99 GT used from a dealer, and we think it may have aftermarket gears, but we arent sure. Is it normal for a basically stock 99 GT to spin the tires like mad on a turn, dry pavement, Nitto 245/45 555's, and a BBK cold air intake. I was turning a left turn in 2nd gear, slowed down to like 15-20 mph, nailed it, tires just started spinning all over the place and the rear end went out from behind me. I've asked a few other GT owners and they said they could only do that when it is wet. Any idears?

See if you have traction control [i think you do] if it's off you can spin easy. Turn it on so you won't lose it on corners.

I don't have it. I also don't get traction all the way through 1st. From like a slow 8 mph roll, I'll punch it and just go sideways

I'm guessing you have 3.73s... it could also be a factory freak or the tires could be so worn down that you just lose it.

If you do about 80 in 3rd you have 3.73. Sounds like you got a healthy one

easiest way to check would be to see what rpm u are at when car is in 5th @ 70 or 75 on interstate.

btw, your symptoms sound like my first 4 runs at the track last weekend (first time with 4.10s)
