Spintech side exhaust

Hey everyone, Im a new poster but long time reader on the forums. Now I am seeking information on the spintech side exhaust kit. I currently have the a/t flowmaster catback and it is decently loud but I am always searching for louder. I also love the idea of the spintech side exhaust but I want to know how loud it is compared to my flows. They would have to be louder than my flows for me to buy them so I am wondering what everyones opinion on them are. Also would there be any hp loss with the setup?

i cant help you on the sound but i will say that imo these side exhaust kits are not good at all for making good power. if you're not interested in getting the most out of your car and just want a good sounding exhaust then go for it, otherwise you might want to rethink your choice. the roush, and spintech side exhaust has the inlet and outlet on the same side of the muffler, meaning the exhaust goes in the muffler and has to make a very sharp U turn to exit the muffler. not ideal in the least. why do you think roush went with conventional rear exit exhaust on their supercharged models. with that being said whenever i decided i wanted to make big power i ditched the roush side exhaust for a custom setup that still reatined the side exit but was more of a straight shot. i see you only have a few mods right now but i dont know what your future plans might be, if you just want something different find a sound clip of it and if you like it, go for it.

The side exhuast is gona prevent you from putting on sub-frames too

spintech makes subframe connectors as well. they are supposed to clear their side exhaust.

I figured that would be some loss in hp due to the 90degree bend of exhaust gases but how much is it robbing? I can put up with a couple of horses being lost but if its anything drastic then I would reconsider...

I was in you postion i went from Jba headers, pro-chamber and flows to a spintech side exhaust. The tone is pretty deep and definately loud the only difference is that the flows have that hollow tone to them but the spintechs scream at wot. Just driving around people are constantly turning there heads its up to you im glad i made the switch took some getting used to but i love them now. Also the cheapest i found the exhaust was actually from dallas mustang however they are cheaper here http://lib1.store.vip.sc5.yahoo.com/gofast/focatbasy.html if your not in California because you have to pay tax if not they are cheaper than dallas mustang

Kenny brown also makes sub frame connectors that will clear a side exhaust, ask for the ones desinged for the 2000 cobra R. I don't believe they're listed on the web site though. I have them as part of my matrix system.
I built my own side exhaust, straight pipe with no muffler (real loud), right angle bend in front of tire near the front of the torque boxes, this gave the best clearance.
All side exhausts give crappy ground clearance, something you should be aware of.

So they are louder than 2 chamber flows? Also does anyone have a clip of the spintech side exhaust?

i remember a clip on the spintech website a few years back. If i didn't already have a borla catback and KB subframes i would have bought the side exhaust. Also their was an article in a mustang mag a few yrs ago with dyno and i think it gained like 12-15 hp on a stock 4.6
