Has anyone tried to use or make a split bellhousing for the four speed?
That idea seems to be the easiest way to go when you are running headers, and need to work on the clutch/pressure plate.
Last time I tried to remove mine, I had to move the headers, raise the engine, and other parts just to get room.

Any thoughts?

I think you would be trading one problem for another, and you might get something worse.

It wouldn't eliminate the getting to the bell to engine bolt problems, and you would be adding the problem of bolting the halves together and getting to those bolts. The bell would have to be thick enough for the bolt bosses and threads making the bell heavier. Some of this weight may be needed to handle transmission of the transmissions torque to the engine.
