Looking for good quality parts that hopefully wont cost me a fortune to fit at the body shop. I assume fiberglass is the only way to go, but I am not sure, any advice on quality parts will be greatly appreciated.

And, long time no see guys, I haven`t toyed with my car in couple years, but I`m back and you`ll be seeing alot of me again.

I purchased mine for my 67 from mustangs unlimited...Im not sure who they use, but the lid is a quality piece...the endcaps fit like pure crap, but I have been told thats the story with all of them, I fit them as best as I could with my limited fiberglass skills, in fact ruined one, had to order another one, this time from CJ pony, and it too fit like crap, it took a complete reworking by a body man to get them right. he had to cut them, add fiberglass here and there, lots of fiberglass filled bondo, but they came out really really nice.

Ok, got my first ever peice of fiberglass today.

Its a Shelby R style front valance made by Dynacorn that looks alot more like injection molded plastic then fiberglass to me. It has a smooth finish inside and outside, and just a little wave or 2 in the front of it. Is this what it should look like?...

I can send a pic or 2 later when my wife gets home if need be.

They make both a plastic and a fiberglass version....sounds like you got a plastic one. I know on ebay you can see both versions, when you order from a catalog, not sure if they tell you what the material is.

Should I keep it if its plastic?

I really thought I was getting a higher quality part then this anyway.

The ones I purchased had the hardware attached to them as well, like mentioned earlier, the deck lid was a quality piece. The end caps were total crap, but they too had the mounting hardware....it had to be removed and reworked and replaced, but it had them anyway. I would almost guarantee that they ones I bought and the onese these guys have came from the same place...

I was just happy that the body man that is painting my car is an expert with fiberglass, he really made them look good and fit properly. Everything had to be fitted. I even got a glass hood with the metal frame (dynacorn) and it was 1/2" too long...he had to shave that off of the rear of the hood to make it fit right. Fiberglass is rarely ever going to bolt right on unless its an OEM piece. If you are patient and have a little knowledge of body work you can fit those pieces, or if you are like me and lazy you can pay someone, lol.

LOL, I aint no fiberglass worker either.

I`m pretty sure I`d just ruin the parts trying to put them on, so I`m paying someone too.

My dynacorn shelby R valance I mentioned earlier in this posting fits pretty bad in my opinion, its about 1/2 inch too short, I think my body man can fix it though.

And yes, "aint" is proper grammer in arkansas...

Yea the parts truck finally ran!!!!!

I got my decklid and endcaps today from Stangoholics, these things look awesome, the quality of the glass is incredible. I`ll get some pics up when I try and fit them tommorow.

I got mine from Branda. The trunk is a factory vacuum formed piece and it is wonderful. The extensions were another story, but they were VERY clear that it would be some work to get it to fit. I have a few pics on the website listed below, and feel free to ask questions
