Question is this. I bought a drag car with 4.10s and a full spool. Will the spool make it impossible to drive on the street? It's an AOD car and I just need to get back and forth to the dragstrip. I have no experience with spools at all so any experience would be appreciated. Nows the time to yank it if it makes it a trailer queen.

I drove mine on the street with my full spool before I went full race. It wasn't to bad just driving around town. It does get worse when your trying to make tight turns in parking lots. You just have to remember to get rolling before you try to turn the wheels.

I wouldn't do it on a daily driver but on a weekend car its fine.

I had one in my falcon that was pretty easy to drive with a auto and only slightly tricker with the stick (mainly backing up). If you don't mind it, keep it. I would re-do a spool on any weekend car in a heartbeat.

I have done it for years. It can be a pita if the weather gets wet, or you are making real tight turns. With the better c- clip elims. they make today things go a little smoother and with less leaks. The more sidewall your tire has and the softer it is the better. Either way the spool or the Eaton you will have great results one is just a little cheaper.
