Im shooting for 500 HP out of a 351W. Could a stock 351W outta of the junkyard handle this amout of HP? Or should I invest in one of these blocks?
I almost ordered one the other day but I want to see what you guys say about these blocks. How much HP are these blocks rated at? Are they worth it? These 351W blocks seem like a steal compared to a sportsman 302.

Any cons about these blocks? Are they that much stronger then like a 69 351W block?

I want to build my motor reliable and have a peace of mind about it.
It'll take me about a year to build but I want to start it this summer.

Any advice? Thanks

If you go with an older style 351W 69-74 you will have no problem with 700HP+. Not sure exactly what your looking for but I have a nasty 408ci motor, ready to assemble for sale, or I can assemble it. Check out my web page http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/615936/5

500 is fine with a stock 351w block.

i can get you a 69 351w block, but be aware these are 2 piece rear main seal and need some machine work to fit properly and to use a roller cam...etc.

let me know, i know he wanted like $300 or something for it, hes a buddy of mine.

I'm not sure what I want to do now. I've heard it cost's about 800 bucks to convert these early style blocks to a roller style cam? I assume a roller camshaft is much more better than a flat tappert.

Thanks for the offer guys but I need to a do a bit more research before I buy my block.

If you run a SOLID roller all you need to do is use the linked bar lifters from COMP, Crane, etc.. $269 and if you run a HYD roller you need to use the linked lifters that are $460.... that is all you need to do, no machining needed at all.

Oh OK that's not to bad. I check your web page and I think that engine is a bit to radical for me but pretty sweet none the less.

Rick on your website the second page is that a 8.8 rear-end? And is that a TQ arm? I like the way they designed that alot.

I already have a F1R for my project , shoot me an e-mail we'll talk Rick91GT@suscom.net

Trophyhead- Yes that is a 8.8 set-up using the Team Z Motorsports suspension, I feel it is the top kit out and has many Drag Radial guys in the 1.3's for 60ft's. The upper arms move the Instant Center for better geometry, top notch parts, and Dave is a helluva guy who really knows suspension.
