Spout Connector - what does it connect to?

Long story short, my spout connector & its 2 wires have come undone from the TFI module wiring harness.

I have to put it back but I can't see where it's supposed to go. I took the tape off of the 6-wire TFI harness and the only thing out in the open is an unshielded wire. The spout connector can't have both lines attaching to that, can it?

If not, where's it go? It doesn't really look like it was attached to anything in there

I've got a pink wire as seen in this pic. Is the spout supposed to go inline with it?

Look in my picture and you'll see a bare wire. That was like that, and if the spout is supposed to go inline with it then I see how to fix it. But that doesn't make sense, I would imagine it should be connected to 2 different wires? Then again, I have no idea.

Yes the spout is inline with the Pink wire like the diagram shows. The Pink wire connects pin 5 of the TFI to pin 36 of the EEC with the spout spliced inline. The bare wire you see is probably the shielding for the ignition circuit.

So I guess I'll just solder this onto the pink wire, wrap it, and be done. Cool. Thanks!

Haven't done it yet because i'm afraid i'm still not right. there's no way the spout connector wires were connected to the 5th pin wire (which isn't pink on my setup, either), and the wire that is closest to being pink has had no other wires connected to it either.

The 5th pin wire color is orange with a stripe. That unshielded wire goes all the way back to the start of the harness. What is that for?

edit: not that i don't believe you guys, of course. i found my manual and it says the same exact thing, but the colors aren't matching the diagram above and for the life of me i can't see how it was done before. I'm too afraid of ****ing up the car by doing it another way than it was to begin with. It'd be just my luck to set it up, run it, have it wrong, and be screwy w/the timing in one place.

The SPOUT pin is the second pin counting from the top of the TFI down and should be the pink wire. One leg of the SPOUT connector should connect the TFI in position 5 and the other leg should end up connecting to pin 36 of the EEC.

I understand that but my 5th wire is not pink. does that matter? If not, why do i not see how it was connected to it to begin with? if two wires were connected wouldn't i be able to see broken shielding or SOMETHING to tell me they were connected? that's my problem

About all else I can offer Dave is that the SPOUT (pink) wire should float 5-9 volts with the car running, as I recall. Because of that interesting voltage, it makes it easy to find.

You have a Black CCD TFI, right?

what's an "E Core Coil"? In my manual here the illustration shows that connected to pin 2 and 3 on the TFI and the diagram looks like the spout connector more than anything else.

In my experiences the wire colors may not match up but the pin locations will always remain the same.
To make yourself feel better about it- do a continuity check between the suspect wire and the appropriate pin @ your pcm and that will show that it is the correct wire.

It is the ignition coil. The wires are wound around steel stampings shaped like an E. One set of "E's" faces right and the other faces left. You end up with a stack of metal stampings with two rectangular openings to surround the copper windings.
