Spring install PLEASE HELP!

i NEED some serious help putting my b springs back in after putting some new isolators on them. i have tried every possible compressor from autozone and that didn't work at all, they just dont fit. with the a arm alll the way down i still cant at least get the spring in there to try and jack it up . is there any other way to put them back in, something alot easier cause im gettin frustrated I heard something about bolting everything back up and unbolting the back bolts on the a arm then putting the spring in is this easier. Please help!

The rear springs are usually the easy part...did you get your fronts in yet? You should not have to use a spring compressor to istall springs on a Mustang. Your LC arm bushings might be old and not letting the arm flex down enough so make sure you pull on them hard to get a full range of motion. Run a long pry bar through the bottom of the control arm to keep the spring in place while you are jacking.

I had alot of trouble to. If you can have a friend push down on the axle while you force the spring in there. That worked for me. If you still dont have enough room them put in a spring compressor and try again. Just be careful those things can kill ya.

Ive heard plenty of stories of them flying off and killing people or going through the roof.

And do you have the shocks unbolted?

he's talking about the front springs.....ie "with the a arm alll the way down..."
When i put my springs in, i had to compress them, then put some wire around them, take the spring compressor out and then put the spring in there. Kinda scary tho. I also didn't put the lower isolator on the front springs so i could get rid of the 'stangs saggy ass syndrome.

I have ford C springs on my 85gt. They were a PITA to get in also. Plus they are only about an inch smaller than stock. But my problem is in the rear. When I got the springs in and everyhing aligned up, my rear was still lower than my front. So I was thinking about trying some of the poly isolators that are thicker than stock to boost up the rear. I know they are out there for 70s stangs but I cant get verification they are made for foxes. Anyone seen these??? Thx

well the compressor thing wont work for me for dsom e reason , has anyone tried unbolting the back of the a arm and the front bolted up to the shock, is it easier that way

My C springs were 2" shorter than stock. To get mine in, i had to wrestle a little bit but they weren't bad.

I did mine with the strut off the car. Lower the A-arm as far as it can go, and pry the spring into the perch... take a chain and secure the spring to part of the frame. I had a friend hold pressure on the spring with his foot as well, to insure that the spring wouldn't pop out of it's perch. I then jacked the a-arm up, and they went right in. The opposite side went smooth as anything after i figured out this method!

find the biggest jack you can borrow or something. i don't trust doing it with a small jack. on my jack, the perch that you put on the part your jacking is only about 3" round. i always borrow one from somebody. get a nice big jack with a big round perch. i always unbolt the A-arms from the inside. i believe it's safer too. the spring won't fly out towards you. i'm pretty sure that you don't have to unbolt tie rods, shocks, or anything. by taking the inside bolts off, the A-arm will then swing towards the outside of the car with plenty of working room. line the new spring up and jack the A-arm back up. it can be a pain to get bolts back in though. here's where a nice big pry bar comes in handy.

what i ended up doing is cutting the spring compresser bolts/rods what ever they are called short in lenght to give you more clerance to jack the a-arm and get the spring in. then slowly unblot the spring compresser. it worked for me. good luck
