What is the disadvantages of removing the isolators in the rear? will it just be a harsher ride? also any one have pics of their cars that have long tubes and a drop I am wodering how close the collector will be to the pavement.

I left out all the isolators when I switched to steeda springs and I thought the ride was fine. After a few months I developed a slight squeak and I'm anal about that stuff. So I order polyurathane isolators and put them in. I think it did raise the car a tiny bit. My gf couldn't tell but I could. Squeak noise was gone. No difference in ride quality that I noticed. My pic is kinda at an angle but you'll hit your mid-pipe before you'll hit the LT's.

I'll try to take a better pic later. No promises.:D

hey, thanks for the pic that is the pic i was looking for. so would you say the xpipe is how many inches of the 5maybe6? and is it the angle or does the collector look like it is sitting almost entirely below the frame rail? I know it not a moajor problem i am just trying to get informed on this.

Sorry for all the noobie questions

I removed my isoraters. I was told that it'll make more harsh ride and makes it noisier. But in all honesty, i really really do not notice anything different.

Springs are under tremendous tention. just drive it up and down will not make it move around regardless of rubber isorater is in place or not. there for no noise.

I understand that there are some people who would report that car developped some noise after removing isoraters. To me I would think thats because your lowering it, and putting more stress on suspension components. Having isorater i think also makes ride rather mushy, as spring compress, then rubber isorater would also "give" little as well

And ride quality is determend by shocks. Not how springs are seated.

I can see that it might affect ride quality if your shocks are dead. Because if that is the case then your spring is doing all the suspending job with no dumping.

Only thing about removing isorater is that you'll lose about 1/4" ride high for each of them. By removing top and bottom isorater, i lost total for 1/2". So prepare to scrape thing or two before you get the hang of it

i can only come in the back driveway of my house b/c my intercooler scrapes if i try to come in the front driveway. you have to be careful when your car sits low. especially when you have expensive parts that hang low.

i removed both isolators in the front. NO noise issues or anything. honestly could barely tell any difference in the ride and lowered the front another 1/4inch :nice:

mity.....got a question i've been meaning to ask you now for almost 2 years.....why do you always type "isoRator"...?? is that on purpose?
