springs

i am wondering how important are the rubber pieces inside of the coil springs and do they have to be there or can i remove them when i change my springs

They are for quelling harmonics. But as I'm sure you will hear, folks have removed them and not noted any difference.
I would leave them though - Ford put them there for a reason (even if we can't perceive what they're doing). Figure 50 cents (or whatever) times a zillion cars and it was a lot of expense. It was done for a reason.

the previous owner of my stang didnt bother to put them in and my car sqweeks when i go over speed bumps. its really irritating to say the least.

if you're talking about the rubber tube inside the spring itself and not the top and bottom spring isolators then i removed mine with no ill effects. I know ford put them there for a reason, but what reason? i cant see a piece of rubber helping anything except for small vibrations in the spring..on a heavy car it wont make any difference...i took mine out so it looks cleaner and i could paint the spring inside and out

That's exactly why they did that. Do dampen any vibration and sqeaks. Most people only remove the right rear isolators to get a better launch and stance for drag racing.

I left the rubber inside, but ditched all the rear isolators...no problems with that
