Sputtering and jumping.

hey. lately my car has been "sputtering". when i try to give it some "go" in first gear, it starts jerking and sputtering untill about 2k rpm. I have a holley electric fuel pump and it makes a weird noise when I first start the car. but will go away in about 5 minutes. I was thinking that this is the problem.

Will this also happen if I had an exhaust leak from the shorty header to the x pipe?

I wouldn't think an exhaust leak would cause that sort of issue, but a fuel pump going south definately could.

We dont see nearly as much carbed stuff as EFI - you are running a carb, right? Jetting was my first thought (did this crop up since it has gotten cold outside?).

And if it arose since your new electric pump, I would toss a gauge on there (low pressure gauges are pretty cheap) and see what the pressure is doing when it acts up.
