Sputtering/Missfire Problem FYI

Dont know if this will help anyone. While tracking down a sputtering problem that was occuring at 3500-5000, I cleaned the electrodes in the dist cap and rotor. Went to test drive and all is ok now.

Thought this might helps someone.

BTW, there were no traces from one electrode to another.
A new Ford Racing cap is on the way
 
Just to add to your info..........

The brass terminals (MSD, ACCEL) wear a lot faster then the alum caps (Ford Racing) and if you have a high powered ignition it happens even faster...
