Squeaking noise when clutch pedal released?

Hey guys, I just adjusted my clutch with my new UPR firewall adjuster, and now when the clutch pedal is released I hear a sqeuaking noise coming from the clutch fork or around that area. Any ideas?

I was adjusting the clutch cable as after I put the firewall adjuster in, the throwout bearing was squeaking. I haven't driven the car in a month, and just adjusted the cable went to try it out and noticed the squeaking coming from the clutch fork or something?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

it's probably your cable squeaking then, mine makes all kinds of noises, it's got 186k miles on it, but it never goes out.

stick your head under while someone presses the clutch

Ok I had my wife press the clutch pedal in and hold it, as she let it out the noise is coming from the pressure plate I think. Those thin strips of metal that the clutch fork presses on the pressure plate.

Like the center part of this.

When the pedal is released, those metal pieces come out and make a squeaking noise. Did not do this until I tried to adjust my clutch cable? I have lubed the cable, but I know the noise is coming from those metal pieces.

Any chance that it might be caused from not driving it for a month?

I had the exact same problem the original poster is describing. I thought it might have been the cable but then I looked under the car when someone was releasing the clutch and it was coming from the clutch fork.....something on the fork was rubbing something else. It went away after about a week.
