i think its the tob also but its does it only on very very rare occasions. sometimes it won't do it at all for months then squeek once then you won't hear it again for months again its not constant at all. but i was looking into getting an firewall adjuster just so i can set my clutch peddle to my liking.
I have the same problem for the last 50K miles. Even though it sounds like it's inside the car, it's the TOB. No need to lube up the cable. Get used to the noise, or change the TOB.
my car was also doing this when I would press in the clutch and hold it or even rest my foot on it...look in the sticky's and you should see a sticky about the tech FAQ or something similar..there is a FAQ about adjustin the clutch under the dash...this killed alot of noise in mine! just did it today actually...
I had the same problem last year stock clutch and TOB with 45K on them. The I blew my clutch at the track so when I did the repair My TOB was so shot it was almost in 2 pieces. I replaced everything and the problem went away.
I think if I would have waited much longer with the TOB it would scored my output shaft on the trans and that would have cost alot more than just a clutch.
If you guys have any squeeks and then you depress the clutch even lightly I would get that TOB replaced. Ford also knows about the problem my friend had his replaced under warrenty.
Thanks for the replies guys. I don't think it's the TOB. I can hear the squeak when I push the clutch even if the engine isn't running. Never heard anything while actually driving the car.
