I've never had any problem like this with any vehicle.
88 5.0 5 speed, and I've recently replaced the tensioner.
There is a very annoying squealing coming from under the hood. At first I thought it was a belt, pulley, or something related.
My boss wanted to hear my car run and was in the driver seat while I was listening under the hood this time. I heard the squealing at the back side of the engine.
The squealing increased in pitch and speed as the rpms increased. Engaging and disengaging the clutch had no impact on the sound.
My starter is also going out. It's not kicking out and engaging the flywheel everytime the key is turned. Just wanted to mention that in case it might be related, although it could have nothing to do with it.

Thanks for your help in advance everyone

Just drove my car home and noticed something very unusual. When I make a left turn the squealing intensifies. When I make a right turn, sometimes it stops all together, or it is a t least reduced.

Even though it sounds like it's coming from the back of the engine compartment, maybe it is the power steering pump. Sit with it idling and turn the wheel back and forth and see if that changes the sound. If it does, there's the source of your noise.

With the car being parked, turning the wheel had no effect

My guess is the bendix on the starter is not releasing from the teeth on the flywheel and is turning with the flywheel and the bearings are going out in the starter.

If the starter will not stop running the starter solenoid on the driver side fender well may be sticking.

At this point id replace starter and solenoid

When I start the car, I'm getting the sound that the starter makes when the bendix doesn't engage. Usually have to give the starter a love tap to get my car started. I'm looking into starters, and for right now the car is going to stay parked

OK I understand that. I won't be able to purchase a starter for two weeks most likely. Sucks being broke lol

I see some relatively inexpensive mini-starters floating around from time to time. I bought one of those several years ago. So far, so good.
