Squeeking Headliner

Does anyone else have a squeeking headliner? I have a new 2007 GT/CS and noticed a squeek at highway speeds which seemed to come from the dash, but as I squirmed around trying to pinpoint it I realized it was coming from the headliner. When I press up on the headliner I can cause it to make the same squeek. I had the same noise with my 2003 Mach 1 but was never able to pinpoint it. If anyone has had the same problem were you able to get it fixed. I searched the threads but could not find any postings on this subject.

Thanks:shrug:

i have this horrible rattle from my dash/A-pillars over bumps.... if you cram foam in between the a pillar and the dash it squeeks on the windshield or something close to it... and if you cram foam between the windshield and apillar it rattles against the dash...plus in the middle of my door panles (driver and passanger) about 3 inches below the window or so .. i am devloping a new rattle... its never ending...

do these sound like any possibilities? and if you find a correction for yours please post your fix!!!!

Try here to see if this is what is causing your door panel rattle...I found that the panels behind the door handles rattled in mine.

Nope, mine definately isn't coming from the doors or A-pillar; it's the headliner. It's a squeeking noise that sounds like vinyl rubbing against something. If you press up on the headliner hard enough you can duplicate the exact sound. The nearest I can figure is that the slightest body flex causes the headliner to rub or vibrate and cause the squeek. I only notice it when the stereo is off and I'm cruising at highway speeds. I hate to take it to a dealer and have them tear it apart and put it back together again. In my experience whenever a dealer takes components apart squeeks either get worse or new ones crop up. I guess I'll have to just keep the radio on at all times.

Let me know when you figure out a fix for the rattle around my Shaker 500, kooldawg!

My Shaker 1000 has never had any issues...yet. My sugesstion would be to swap a 1000 in for your 500...:nice:
I may have to look into fixing that glovebox door rattle!!!!! My buddy and I rode up to MD last week with the radio off for the most part, but had to turn it on since that rattle got damned annoying after an hour.
