squeeking noise coming from the rearend?

hey guys i need some input on a squeeking noise coming from the rearend area of the car near the brake area. checked the rotors already, could it be the axles or bearings?

when do you hear the squeek. coming to stops. cruising, acceling? i dont think it would be your axel's or bearing's iv'e never came across anything ever were a squeek noise came from the rear bearings and axel's. i would concentrate on your brakes.

we need a lot more info. does it sqeek when hitting the brakes, when letting go of the brakes. is it over bumps, corners?

my 04 gt's rear end squeak when i go over bumps slowly. especially when i pull out of the drive way cuz i dont have the traditional driveway. it is more of a lil bump. its the type of curb used so car can go half way on the sidewalk because the streets are kinda narrow

Mine does that. It has the "body roll" squeaks.

The main culprit (it happened to me) was the emergency brake cable. It rides in a clamp fastened to the bottom of the car near the rear tire. The cable gets a bit loose in the clamp and sqeeks like hell. Undo the clamp (you'll see wear marks) and lube the cable with grease and tighten it back up. Or wrap the cable with black electrical tape and retighten the clamp. Good luck.

mine did that and suprisingly it had nothing to do with brakes....if you guys have a catback it could be that....it could be a pipe or a rubber peice rubbing against a control arm....the whole system might need to get pushed back a little bit to give it more clearance......mine had that exact slow roll squeak and this is how i fixed it

my car squeaks when i go over bumps because my mufflers shake because the mufflers have no hook on them to stabalize them.

1. ebrake cables: look them over make sure they are not being pulled or rubbing when the suspention articulates.

2. spring isolaters: make sure they are still in good shape.

3. Re-tighten the shocks, control arms, sway bar

4. bearings: jack up the rear of the car and let it run in gear listen for noise.

5. check the exhaust and make sure it is not rubbing on anything.

if you check all of these things you will most likely find the problem. I just put on MM rear control arms at christmas. I stated to get a squeek when I would take off. front passanger bolt just need to be snuged up a bit. I found it by just retighting all the bolts. when I got to that one and tightened it it made a squeek. it wasn't loose but obviously had backed off a tad.

I get a squeek going over speedbumps, potholes, road markers etc from my drivers rear but then again that shock is leaking so Im assuming thats the problem.

thanks for all the replies. i will have all of those things checked. the noise is pretty much constant but not really that bad although you know its there.
