I have a question that some of you might be able to answer without actually seeing the car. I have a 93 5.0 5spd. When I release the clutch I can hear a squealing sound coming from the tranny. I think it might be the throw out bearing making the noise. If I depress the clutch in as little as just an inch, the squeal will stop.

Any guesses as to what it is and is it something that can the fixed by adjusting the clutch?

Thanks

Mine did the same thing I installed a new clutch and the squeek stoped, It was a bad throw out bearing. How many miles on the clutch?

I am not sure.. as far as I know the clutch could be original. I am the third owner with about 120k on the car. So i really can't tell.

The clutch is very tight though, not worn at all.. grabs at just the right sweet spot.

Just a little annoying with the squeal.

That squeek will get louder over time. I would replace it along with the clutch with 120K on it.

Yeah, I will be doing that soon.

I just found a small oil drip in my garage this morning. I don't think it is from engine oil. I need to look at that too when I get home from work. Probably a seal or gasket from one of the pumps. It is on the very front passenger side of the engine bay.

I guess with a 15 year old car that has been garaged with an average of 600 miles over the last couple years.. it is going to have some quarks.
