Been having spongy brakes lately and I think I'm going to go with some Russel steel braided brake hoses, new wheel cylinders, shoes, and maybe a new master cylinder. Hopefully this will solve some of the sponginess that I've been experiencing at the pedal. I was wondering if anyone out there has had success with the steel braided brake hose. Trying to improve the stock brakes on my car. BTW it's a 1993 lx 5.0 vert. :jester:

I did the steel brake hose on my car. I like it. I mainly did it because the factory ones were so old and cracked. The rear one can be a bit of a PITA, but other than that take you time. Make sure you dont round off the nut on the brake line fastener like I did. Take your time and have a wire brush and WD ready.

The brake fluid hasn't dropped and I'm not leaking by any of the wheel cylinders. So possibly air in the system? I still want to swap out the old brake lines for the steel braided. Maybe I'll try and bleed them again.

Either there is air in the lines or the lines themselves have collapsed internally. You will need to bleed the brakes if you replace all those parts.

BTW: If your trying to fix a problem, don't just throw parts at it, the won't help a bit unless you fix the problem at hand.
