No, that's not what I am saying. I have no problem with new cars being in a show. My point is that it sucks for us new edge mustangs and fox's when we have to compete against "classics",

I dont see how they can clump the classic Mustangs, The Foxes, The SN95's and the new 05's all into one class. There are so many changes through those yrs thats its not even funny, maybe the 05 will be a blessing and be the straw that breaks the cammels back and forces them to re arrange the classes some. I always figured that the classes were split up so you were to compeate w/ the cars from your own era, not to compeate w/ cars made 40 yrs previously.

At one point you were once the " New Age" Mustang where you could drive it off the lot to a show and bring home a trophy, now that the torch has been passed to the 05 its just a sucky situation for all unless they fix these classes some. The 05 is so diffrent even from an 04 but they wont make a class just for the 05 b/c there wont be enough of them, Either way you will still be compeating with them weather they change the class or not

I would go with either the Vortech or the Procharger Larry. But please get an intercooler or aftercooler!!!!!!!!

Get a Vortech w/a Methonal injection kit, its a hell of alot cheaper then an Inter or after cooler.

Unless your going to run alot of boost you dont even need an intercooler on a centri blower anyway. Vortechs are prob the most widely used S/C's there are a ton of them on Mustangs but a very high precentage of them dont run an inter or aftercooler, like I said unless your going to run alot of boost your not really going to need one.....would it be nice.....yeah prob but the Meth kit is alot cheaper then an aftermarket intercooler. To get one to fit w/ a vortech you would need to custom build the pipes and all that crap b/c I dont even think there is any company that builds an intercooler for a Vortech or a Paxton. That goes to show you how much there actually needed.

Have you looked into the Pro Charger?

-Mike

I would skip the procharger, that is what I was orginailly going to get until I started doing some research and reading some threads on it. I came to the conclusion that even though procharger had said that the problems were fixed they were still having problems w/ leaking head units according to some people. Some head units wouldent even stay on the car for more then a few months before being sent back to have seal work done on them. Some people never had any problems at all and Im sure that some cases were caused from people over filling the head units but it was the other stories that turned me off from them. I wasent about to spend $3,000 on a S/C and have it spend most of the time shipping the head unit back b/c it was leaking. For some reason they never had this issue w/ the D-1SC it was only on the P-1SC.

I don't know if i would trust the water/meth injection over an after/intercooler. With the high compression his 4V makes i would want as cool a charge as possible

BTW dumbass Vortech makes an Aftercooler for all their kits.

It looks like this

First off, he said Intercooler not Aftercooler. Second, unless you keep ice in that box at all times than will not get the same cooling effect as methonal injection. Anything else??

I don't think it looks that bad...but then again what do i know. not that much....lol!

I think they look stupid as hell, Id never put one on mine but then again I dont have a Vortech so Im not going to worry about it. I dont plan on running anything like that and I dont forsee having any type of problems. There are so many stangs out there w/ centi blowers on them and no inter or aftercooler and they dont have any issues at all, I realize that running cooler temps is better I have yet to ever come across any theads here on stangnet or the corral that state that someone was having probls w/ there car b/c they dident have an inter or aftercooler w/ a centri blower.

It seems that some of you are getting in a pissing contest over an Aftercooler for this Vortech. IMHO I don't feel he will need one. With a moderate amount of boost, an Aftercooler isn't needed. Sure it would be nice. You have to remember that a certrifical SC is different than a screw. The KB sits on top of the engine and soaks up most of the heat from the engine. The Vortech will not absorb as much heat and have lower intake temps. He will be mostly using this on the street, so why get the aftercooler and spend all that extra money. Most of the time he will have water in there that is the same temp as the engine bay. So how much gain can you really get, from the extra money your spending. I wouldn't get one. I would save the money on other mods. With 8psi he should be at 400Hp anyway. He won't need anything to cool the intake charge. Guys run these kits all day long with no aftercoolers, so he needs to get one cause your KB needs one. Come on lets get real. I really don't think they are worth the time and money. Just my .02
