Can anyone help a brother out? My father-in-law needs a rebuilt 1996 GMC Sonoma 4.3L V-6 manual tranny(5 speed I think). He's a cheap mofo, so this is probably going to hurt him more than he thinks. If you guys can think of anyone to call, or want to direct me to a website, please feel free. I shall now continue my search.

Maybe the system wiggles around and allows the exhaust to burn through after a while. Or the system isnt square so to speak and it blows out on the weakest side. Just blob on some Ultra Copper when you put in the new gasket. That stuff works great. I used it to seal my headers to the heads with no gaskets and have had no problems after a couple of years. Worth a try.

swapped out the gasket today and the noise is still present...

i don't know wtf it is now

it's not that loud...actually it is very very faint and i can only hear it from the pass side wheel well, and only above 1K rpms

the car is in the air and i couldn't hear it from underneath

Sounds like it's time for a rebuild along with a stroker kit and a turbo.

your going to need a front end alignment after you do the struts. Not a great idea to go on a long ride after you install those struts. You don't know how the care will behave without a proper alignment.
The rear springs aren't bad to do but you need to be care especially with the front ones. Don't need one flying out at you. If those are the stockers in the front it could be tough to get them out without a spring compressor because the springs are so tall. I think someone in here experienced how tough it can be to pry out the originals.

They are not stock and I know I'll need a front end alignment

Sounds good mike, not sure exactly when I'll have the shocks/struts and springs but hopefully by early summer. Just have other things that I want to get first. We need a gaming day sometime again soon. Killzone 2 is out on Friday.

Finally got my power back today, it has been out since the night of the storm
