'k, so I've seen the posts in various forums (forii?) on the dyno-day at ST, and would like a little more info on what kind of a shop "ST Motorpsorts" is, and what they offer. Xmas is haulin' A and getting ever larger in the rear-view, and I may have some $ to play with, but trying to find a reliable vendor/installer here in SoCal is a pita! I've tried looking ST Motorsports up on the web, but their site seems to be offline.

Is this the kind of place I can get a kick-a deal on brakes/a blower/etc, AND get it professionally installed at a good price?

And another thing, what's with all the tumble-weed in the WC Forums? No-one owns a 'stang out here?!?

No offense to Adam at ST, he may be a great tuner/shop but my experience with him wasn't great.....

at his last dyno day my car blew up on his dyno (probably wasn't his fault, i have my own theories on that, though). after that, he offered to give me a good deal on a blower-ready short block....i made this clear that this was my ONLY mode of transportation and that being without it would be a major hassle...

...after two weeks of hounding him, i finally got a QUOTE. (all the while i'd been searching for other places that could build me a motor in the socal area...). when i got his estimate, it was a scan of a handwritten piece of paper with a price scribbled at the bottom. the price was well over $1000 over the price of the place that i ended up going with....AND his price didn't even include a new block (which the quote i went with included)! it was priced for re-using my old block! he also told me that he didn't have time to get to my car right away. plus, after two weeks of hounding him trying to get an estimate, when he finally got it to me....the next day he was sending me emails saying "i really need to know what you're going to do, you're taking up space at my shop." (guess i wasn't taking up space at his shop the whole time i was trying to get an estimate from him.

sooooo....needless to say, i took the day off work, went out to the IE and called AAA. they towed my car all the way from san berdoo to oxnard, and i couldn't be happier with how the motor came out. it was built by MMR in Oxnard (www.modularmustangracing.com). mark, chris and serge and the guys up there were great, they never made me feel stupid and they never minded me calling them to check and see how my car was doing. i never got the "ugh, not HER again." feeling when i called them. the car revs so smoothly, it still amazes me, plus unless i'm mistaken their motors come with a 3y/36k warranty. if you run their decals, they'll also give you a "sponsorship discount" of between 5-15%!

NOW, having said that....i have heard good things about his work on mustangs, srt-4's and ls1's. but after my experiences, it's not a shop i'll personally be frequenting.

If you have any info on ST, please post up. In the 20+ days since I asked the question, the bad story is the only one I've gotten.

A "search"? What is this "search"?

Did one, got 8 pages of results - "motorsports" in a search string'll do that for you.

...just incase anyone else missed my original question, and posts a link to a 9-page thread on the dyno-day.

Nevermind, I'll just mark ST as a "Nay"...

Cool. Didn't read the links yet, but that's the kind of info I was looking for (your KB install).
