I have to replace my black DD rims due to the salt eating through the clear coat. Since I need new rear tires and rims I was thinking of going with an 18" wheel in the rear with a 17" in the front.

Will the tire look wider with an 18? Can I still fit a 315?

Thanks
TF

you should be able to clear a 315/30/18. be ready to pay for it though. 18" rears are usually 300-600 each!

There are pics of a black GT that has 17x9 up front and 18x10 DD Black bullitts out back. It looks killer but only because the front end of the car is slammed. I suggest you remove the front spring isolators or get the Steeda X2 Ball joint kit to bring the front end down if you want to run a staggered setup for it to look right. Maybe someone will have the pics that im talking about saved on their desktop and can load them.

i ran staggered drag racing style on my old 5.0. i was a little insane on mine. i ran 15x8.5 (295's) on the rear and 15x3.5 (165's) in the front. i had no driving problems doing that everyday. some say not to do that but i did anyways
on my new stang, i went thick on the stock 17's with 275 and 245 in the front.

it would be interesting to see the 315's on an 18" wheel!

315s will fit... but unless you really want 18s, why not just reclear your current wheels and use the money saved to buy some stock wheels to use during the winter? good 315s on an 18" wheel are big dollars. for the price of one you can get a decent set of stock GT wheels with tires.

But at the same time, 18s>17s..
