Stainless Break Lines

I was told with the new ABS systems and all the extra plumbing in todays brake setups that adding a 12" piece of braided steel line at all 4 corners makes no noticeable difference in feel.

Then how in the world do we get rid of the "sponginess" of older brake systems? My 04 Grandprix GT feels like it will stop twice as fast as my Cobra and it's a four door with smaller discs! :bang:

You just answered your own question. On the older brake systems adding SS lines may in fact improve feel. As for your 04 GT "feeling" like it stops quicker this may be contributed to it's lighter weight.

No way my Grand Prix is lighter than my Cobra. Yeh the engine is a 6 instead of a 8, but the Prix is a four door and about a foot longer.

There is one word that you need to know to fix your brakes. "Wilwood"

Get the Superlight 6 and the 14" 2 piece rotors. Smooth or slotted. NO Holes!! You will never need to worry about your brakes again. Pad change is so easy too!
 
I was thinking more about your problem. Are you running DOT 5 fluid?
DOT 5 fluid is not hygroscopic. As moisture enters the system, it is not absorbed by the fluid. This results in beads of moisture moving through the brake line, collecting in the calipers. This can cause a spongy feel. It is not uncommon to have caliper temperatures exceed 200° F, and at 212° F, this collected moisture will boil causing vapor lock and system failure.

Just something to think about. I always run 570 DOT 3
