i have a stock 2000 convertable auto. i hate how it bogs when i floor it from a stop. i think i need a 2400 stall converter. i have 3.27's in the rear. what should i do. what tranny is this i have a set of 3.55's for my 89 that i could put in. i also want to put the shift kit from jegs in this car too. any help is appreciated, thanks.
well that blows. i need to find somebody with a 5spd and somehow get it.
why so you can miss a shift and be slower then dirt??
If all you'll ever do is drag racing, go for a 3000 or higher. I went with a 2800-3000 and it made a significant difference in my launches but now that I'm into autocross, a stall converter sucks. This is one mod you can't just remove for the weekend.
I need to drive a car with a high stall...I dont get it....is it only for launches?..or will it still kick the rpms up higher when im going and get on it?
it's really not that noticable at lower loads. As you increase the load ( press down on the gas or climb a hill) the RPM's will climb higher then they do stock. When you get on it you will think you were driving a different car.
I have owned both and worked on both a properly stalled well built auto with good gears is a blast to drive and will KILL a similar 5-speed car.
hmm..interesting..would bad , burnt atf fluid make the stock stall not work as good?...
because they are awsome to drive and don't need a bunch of money to perform.
