Stalling Out Every Time On Start Up

This could be a user issue (newb here) but everytime I release the clutch slowly (sometimes spending minutes doing it) I stall out. Even if I try giving it gas as I slowly release the clutch.

This happens after I start it up with the clutch in and my foot on the brake in neutral with the E-brake on.
The clutch is also extremely stiff, I'm not sure if that's because there might be an aftermarket clutch in it or a mechanical issue.

Thoughts? Advice? Thanks, Jordan.

If you are not used to driving a manual trans, it takes some time to learn how much throttle to apply to get rolling without stalling. Try revving up to 1500 RPM before letting out the clutch. Be sure that the Ebrake isn't dragging and the car will roll freely out of gear.

A binding clutch cable will make the clutch very stiff. If the cable is misrouted or has gotten too close to the exhaust, it will definitely bind. The binding common to adjustable cables is often due to misplacement of the adjusting nuts on the fork end of the cable. This will also cause the cable to wear and fray. Both nuts should be on the back side of the fork so that the domed nut faces the fork and the other nut serves as jam or locknut to the domed nut.

So my clutch is still stiff, but that's because I haven't bothered to mess with it.
Now today I thought, lets try and start it in reverse, it fired up and idled. From reverse, I put it in neutral, let go of the clutch, and it bucked and stalled out.
So from start up in neutral and switching into neutral it'll stay on with the clutch in, but with the clutch out it stalls out.

idea?

also, what's the normal routing for the clutch cable? Mine goes from the fenderwall, down against the driver side wheel well and the tail back to the transmission, it's near the exhaust but not touching or anything. about 4 inches space.

When I bought mine my clutch was murder to push. First thing, my pedal was crooked and found out that the nut on the pivot under the dash was loose. Tightening it made the pedal straight. My cable was mis-routed however rerouting and bolting it in the right place had no effect. I replaced the cable. Much better. I finally replaced the clutch, fork, pivot ball, and input bearing retainer when I had the trans out and MAN what a difference. My granny could push it now. I love it.
