On the way home tonight I was rear-ended by a nice Jaguar. The girl was probably doing about 40mph. Hit me so hard it made me hit the car in front. The car in front took off and actually ran from the cops for some reason. The great thing was there were three cops directing traffic in the intersection so they saw everything. He said he was shocked no one was hurt. I didn't take any pics yet but my trunk won't close my exhaust is all screwed up, rear bumper is toast front bumper is toast front drivers light is gone, I think there is frame damage, passenger door will not open plus other body damage. Funny thing is my rear lights are good and air bags did not go off. The fuel cut off worked and stalled the car. Also the tow tuck guy said its going to be a close call whether it totaled or not. If its totaled then may go with an s197, mach 1 or a 65-70 mustang.

Rough break man, let me follow that by saying if it is totaled MACH 1 !

Also I think the air bags only deploy in a hard front impact collision, don't know for sure, anyone know what it takes to make them deploy ?

At least you are okay man.

Make sure you still go to the doctor in the next couple of days because you may not be sore now, but something may come up like after a whole night's sleep. If you are able to part any of the engine parts out and are willing to LMK because I may be interested.

God that sucks man, your GT was really clean and really well modded.

As said, it's most important that you're ok.

Depends on how many miles are on the car, maybe 4-7k. Being a 10 year old car, I doubt that they are going to fix it. That is really the bad thing about modding older cars, and the one of the reasons I am selling mine.

If I were you, I would try to get whatever you can out of the car. Headers, X pipe, tear the heads/cams/intake off. Most insurance companies might let you do that, but it is worth a shot. You might be able to get 500-1000 selling used parts that you put on the car.

i'm never very good with condolences but im seriously very sorry to hear the news. i have been in your shoes before with a pervious mustang and its very disheartening. i am glad to hear that no one is hurt. as mentioned above, would probably be a good idea to visit your doc in a day or two just to be sure. count on being sore. a 40 mph lick is a nasty hit.

hopefully the insurance company will be easy to get along with and fair.

That really sucks! I've been in the same boat you're in. I came really close to being totalled.....and from the sound of it, my damage wasn't as extensive as yours.

Anyway.....I CALL DIBS ON THE CAMS!

I will let you guys know about selling parts if it comes to it. The X pipe and headers may be damaged but we will see.

If she has a good insurance company you may get more than you think.
You could transfer most of the undamaged parts to a different stang...
That would be a project, but you still have the jeep, right.

Sorry to hear that man, hopefully things work out for you...I'd go for a new 5.0 with the insurance money if it was me.
