Last week I made the move from Ocean City, MD to Phoenix, AZ with my girlfriend and our two dogs. One was with her and the other in back of my stang lol. It was ~2500 miles and ~40 hours of driving. It took us 4 days total(stopped in Knoxville, TN; some small town in Oklahoma; and Gallup, NM). I was kind of skeptical that my car would make it out there but suprisingly neither of us ran into any major problems. Only thing that went wrong was when I was driving through New Mexico at night, I lost a side skirt. :bang: So now I'm going to have to go skirtless which shouldn't be too bad since my car is DFG and you really can't see the holes.

My car averaged about 26-28mpg even though it was completely packed up and her little ranger averaged about 17-19mpg with a full load.

I love the weather out here, when we left MD it was cold and when we got to Phoenix it was 85! :nice:

Only thing that sucks is that they have emissions out here and I have no cats, no smog or egr. It's going to be a pain and $$ to get cats and put everything back on.

Our stangs are pretty reliable for long highway trips. And get pretty good mileage cruising also. I love taking mine on trips like that for the hell of it. Its always fun.

I thought after a certain amount of time our cars are exempt from emmissions, just a visual?

don't come here then lol. Unless its 25 years old or older you still gotta get emissions. The only way around it is if you drive less then 5,000 miles a year. Now my truck is a 2001 it still has emissions but its only an idle test. I guess they don't run it on the rollers

Even so he would still fail if its not there when they look.

I love OCM. Last year I went to Avon NC for a weekend it was awesome but just not the same without the boardwalk. Then again theres not millions of seaguls there I HATE them things. If I get invited this year I'll be going to Avon for a week so it should be a lot better.

I was just in Phx and LOVED it, now back in MD. Weather is faken awesome and there's TONS to do there. In 4 days I went horse back riding, went to see Sedona and Jerome, went to Lake Pleasant, went to a car show and missed the races cause I was too hungover. I'm really considering moving there, but we'll see.

BTW, glad to see your car made it!!

Glad to hear you made it. How did you lose a side skirt?

Don't know really... I'm sure it was because of how horrendous the roads were on the trip out. I thought my car was going to fall apart when I was going through TN and a lot of the states.

I heard a thump but just assumed it was a piece of truck rubber in the road that I hit cuz I was constantly dodging them lol. Oh well not a big deal just another thing to add to the list to have done.
