Been a long time since I've been on here. So just recently My car died. Thought I ran out of gas and the float was just stuck at 1/4 tank. So put some gas in then got it filled up and no problem. Then it happened again a tiny bit above 1/4 tank. Rinse and repeat from last time with same result. Now today I am running around town taking care of some things and the car just slowly dies out. I'm in gear pressing the gas and it seems like it's fighting to stay on but slowly just dies. I stop and wait about 20 min and start it up. Just dies right away. Try it again but press the gas while it's starting and it will go for a little bit then die again.

I have a full tank of gas in it so I would like to drop the tank after I try any suggestions since most everyone knows how much of a pain it is to drop a full tank. Also I was a bit low on oil. Filled it up tonight and drove it for about 20 min with no problem. But it has been 105 degrees so I'm not sure if the heat is a factor but it doesn't get hot and all fluids(now) are fine. I can't really think of anything else to give you guys to help right now. Any suggestions?

and I pulled codes and got nothing.
I also have a new fuel pump, new fuel filter, new MAS, new air filter.

check to see if all your ignition components are connected properly. try getting a new distributor cap and rotor kit to make sure your getting good spark and make sure the ignition coil wires are connected properly on the coil. i was having a issues with mine at a time. it looked like it was plugged right but it really wasnt.

Everything is connected properly. I'm gonna take apart the dizzy this weekend when I do my oil change and a few other things too. Another thing I noticed is a lack of power when I step on it. Not like I'm going all out, but pushing it a bit more than normal.

Let me how you make out, mine is doing the same thing, however it wasn't the pip. It's certainly an electrical issue! But like looking for a needle in a haystack!

Well I took out the old TFI module and split the heat sink off the back and cleaned out the old compound (still tacky but had gotten somewhat chalky at the edges. Spread some DE compound between the heat sink & module and put back in. I'll let you know when I've run it long enough to see it that was the issue. If not I'll buy a new one, took all of 20 minutes to pop it out, clean & put back in.

Hey gents I had this same problem a few months back with my '94 gt. I ended up replacing the cap and rotor, coil, and ignition module. Haven't had any problems since. I prob replaced something that didn't absolutely need to be done. From what I gather it is hard to if at all possible to figure out which is causing the problem until it the part goes out completely. Hope what I had to say helps.

Yeah, intermittent problems can be an absolute nightmare to track down if they don't trigger a fault code in the computer. Sod's Law says that the engine will run perfectly when you take the car to the garage, so the mechanic will spend 2 hours performing diagnostic tests and tell you there's nothing wrong with it. Then as soon as you drive the car away again frustrated as hell, the car acts up and you feel like tearing your hair out.
