Stang Seems A Bit Sluggish

The throttle response on my 03 GT is not what it was. It feels heavy on takeoffs. Last week I lowered my stang with Roush Springs plus shocks and struts and I only noticed this problem AFTER the parts were installed. Under normal circumstances I know that the suspension should not effect the quickness of the car. But driving my car everyday I know when something is off. Any suggestions on what may be causing this?

18" rims and tires weigh a lot more than 17"s usually. I don't know about the Roush rims, but that is unsprung weight and can have a noticeable difference. I also notice that summer gas is not the same especially in Cali. Where do you live?

also make sure you didn't kink a brake line. That can cause excessive drag, excessive brake wear, and can cause all 4 wheels to drag when the brake fluid in that caliper boils under high heat.

Fixed one of these this week.

This is actually a good item to check and well worth checking into. I'm also thinking since you have stiffer sprngs that the feel is that the weight isn't transferring as well to the rear tires as before with the softer, stock springs giving you less traction as before.

Yes that what I was thinking as well.

Well I talked to the dealer and expressed my concerns and they told me that its because the setup hasn't been broken in yet (after only a week). They said give it about a month or two and the problem should correct itself. Let's hope so....
