dont be sad.. it'll technically still be a 5.0 lol trust me.. i'll hang out here before anywhere else.. as far as my GT goes.. i just started to drive it in june.. fixed everything from a new rack and pinion to brakes, rear end, and all.. its a really nice GT and i love it to death lol fun to drive but im just ready to try my hand at something else.. trust me i'll get me another 5.0 here oneday.. i just think the 4.6 cobras are good DD hotrods.. considering the terminators.. 600 hp off boost and a tune and still jump in it and drive it everyday.. i do that anyway with my car.. im jsut tired of worrying about my fox everywhere i go.. lol if anyones interested in my car.. i can give some info if you PM me.. otherwise i'll do the right thing and stick er in the classifieds..

dont worry.. im not leaving the forums.. since technically it'll be a 5.0 with the stroker kit.. i'll qualify

It only has a bad rod (or two)? You do realise that the 1996+ Cobras are 4V DOHC motors right? Forget the stroker, fix the motor and supercharge it. It will probably cost less than a 5.0 changeover.

Not the same block as the 03-04's and if it has a bad motor id check out those heads, they would be quite costly to repair or replace.

not throwing an actual 302 single cam motor in it.. im stroking the 4v motor in it.. and doing high compression as well..

Tekskid block FTW...man, the n/a times arent that great I say go boost or go home with the 96-98s...why waste an all aluminum block good for over 1000rwhp on an n/a set up?...thats just my opinion I would kill for a 96 mystic myself...hellion + Comp Xtreme cams = 750rwhp!

The Modular motors already have a lot of stroke... The reason the power levels are low is because of the small size of the pistons... This leads to the realitivly small valve sizes and low power.

I understand the need to go 5.0L in the new Mustangs, but you should look at using a big bore style block instead of stroking.

with the 4.6s from what ive read BB>stroker... And since it is a tekskid block (all aluminum block found in 96-98 cobras and some other ford cars...) you can bore it out to a 5.0, with your normal 4.6 you need to get the cylinders sleeved which costs a lot of $$$. So go big bore if your not gonna blow it....or do both!!!

Do a big bore not a stroker. They're already stroked to hell but their bore is so small it's pathetic. I think it's like 3.5"

Id take a fox over a modular any day of the week, but thats not to say I wouldnt take a 04 cobra, but Id never sell my fox for one, my fox will always keep the garage etc., my fox is also my first car though and the car I learned to drive stick on, so I guess that adds some sentimental value to it lol.
