Well the plan is to do the quarter window, center of hood and racoon eyes in a flat dark gray. Wheels will be gloss paint same dark grayish with polished lip.

Is the glass smaller on the non t-top doors? It always seemed like the glass is smaller, although I could be wrong.

Whats your plan for paint for it?

The glass is larger on the t-top doors, got all glass removed and started on the doors.

Also notice the red stops on the t-top window.

stock window

t-top window

The t-top doors appear to be vert doors, see the extra reinforcing

Got the top cut off and started body work

Phil got the buffing done

Had to see it in the sun

Recieved the most beautiful hood I have ever seen, quality of this is unbelievable. It is the new 84-86 hood from Boss Inc., came in two days, pretty funny it is the exact color that the center of the hood will end up in flat.

Rusty is gonna be on hold for a few days, cause I got a job doing this

This came to visit also, had some fun test driving, this is the replacement driver for the guy I'm installing the Hellion for.

I gotta say Ford did a great job on the SN97, I'm very impressed with how easy it is to work on compared to the sn95,looks like a mustang not a fox, capri, fairmont, whatever.

the convertible glass is different as well, i bought convertible doors for my 87 t-top and the glass is smaller and tapers different.the doors were off a 92 convertible all the internals are the same except for the metal guide that is pop riveted to the glass.i like the fact that you cut the doors are you reusing the rubber seals off your old doors?

The hood with shipping was cheaper than the hood alone from another major competetor, like just under 400.00 shipped, and let mr tell ya, I've bought alot of hoods. This one is def top shelf, the design is so sexy, quality is at the top.

No, I'm getting the entire weatherstripping kit from Fox Restoration, the old stuff is pretty shot.

They have website Boss Inc. The 84-86 hoods are not listed yet, but other years are, with pics.

You mean weatherstripping kit, It's 699.00 at Fox restoration and you can get a 10% disc. if you mention Foureyed pride forums. It is a complete kit everything!!!

The Hellion kit is installed, along with gauges, fuel pump, injectors, and SLP exhaust.

So we are back on the t-top. Doesn't look like alot, but I have 3 days in this one door. As for the front bumper cover, we may have to sell it and go with another. Wefound a reconditioned oem, and I think in the end , as picky as we are getting with this thing we will be better off.

I believe it. Body work sometimes takes forever! The best is people who don't know bodywork (customers) think that it takes a few days to get a car ready for paint. I could only wish that!!! I have about 5 straight days just in wet sanding on the 1960 T bird I've been doing for a guy. Progress looks great man, I can't wait to see the finished product. Although I was expecting something a little crazier with the paint when you said you were keeping it under locks a while ago cause you didn't want anyone stealing the idea or something.

I believe it took 3 days, I would have thought more. My stock doors needed 3 days each if you factor all the time we spent on them. Mine only needed some small things fixed too.

Keep up the progress!

I think wild strawberry is pretty rare, in all the events we have been to we have only seen 3 wild strawberries and none were repaints of the factory color. So we really didn't want to bring it out with a ton of other wild strawberry cars. It won't be all one color.I felt pretty risky when we did the two tone, we wanted to be careful of not having to strong of a flat out drag race look. Couldn't do another two toned. Coming up with color combos is tough, except for all black, thats always good.

Definitely looking great!!!

If you do go with a different bumper cover, maybe move up to a GT unit with the fog light valence?? One of my favorite noses is the 84 GT with the tapered eggcrate grille combined with the fog light valence similar to the 85/86 GT's. I think that subtle upgrade will give you a slightly more aggressive look without really altering the overall look of the car.

If it were me, being that I like things simple, the only two toning I would do on this car is a hood stripe that tapers down onto the grille, like the stock one on 83-84 GT's. I'd also do all the molding and headlight buckets in factory-esque satin black.

Not much in the Mustang world gets me more amped up than seeing a clean, stock looking 4-eye with minor cosmetic upgrades like hood, wing, stance and wheels. Under the skin it is more or less fair game...but not much is hotter than an enhanced stock 4-eye.

Wild Strawberry is rare. They only made it in 91 and 92 correct? We have a WS 91 hatch (with the black belt molding) and rarely see cars the same color. Most are repainted something different.

So this car is getting more color???
