Starter bolts backing out

I have an 87 GT that the previous owner swapped a C4 into (originally an AOD car)..... I have had the car about two months now and am having trouble keepin the starter bolts in..... it seems that at high rpm, there and some sort of vibration that is causing the bolts to back out, which allows the starter to drop down and the nose cone hits and rides on the flexplate creating a horrendous noise. I even tried puttin lock-tite on the threads of the bolts for a temp fix til I could figure out the cause, but they have backed out again. It has the correct flexplate and TC in the car with the right tooth count and everything to match up to the 302, but I"m perplexed. The only think I can seem to figure out what may be causing it is there is no block plate between the block and bellhousing, but I don't see how that could cause a vibrations hard enough back out two bolts that have been torqued..... or possibly there's a crack in the flexplate and its expanding at high rpm..... I dunno. I'm stumped, so I'm turning to you guys..... any suggestions??

I had an all stock 5.0L Auto and the starter bolts always backed out of them. I just cleaned the threads up real good with some brakleen and then I used a couple dabs of thread locker on each bolt. Never had a problem after that. Don't gob it on there, because you may never get them back out!!

there is a few diffrent strenth,s of loc tite, make sure you get the maximun strenth kind.

i would start with the block plate first, its supposed to be there so i would start there. if that does not fix it, start somewhere else, but u know that problem is taken care of

I just used regular old lock washers and it solved the problem.
