Hello. Im running an AOD behind a 347 (a roller engine out of a 5.0). My problem is I have a 157 tooth 28oz. flywheel (not the 163 that they) so now Im having a heck of a time finding a starter that will work. Im looking for a mini starter, as these seem to live longer and not get cooked by the exhaust. Ive tried a ford motorsport starter for the AOD set up, but this dident work because of the different tooth count (I think). Please help.

You have to switch to a 164 tooth. The starter position for the AOD is farther out, and that's why you need the larger 164 wheel. Stick a smaller wheel in there and it'll never engage the wheel. Time to pull the tranny.

If it is a roller motor don;t you need the 50oz flywheel?

he has a 347, the rotating assy can be balanced whatever you prefer, 50, 28 or neutral. 28oz balance is common with aftermarket rotating assy's

X 2. All AOD's use the 164 tooth flexplate
